Milan Kovacevic is an independent video producer, editor and photographer based in San Diego. His documentaries for KPBS-TV include ones on the science of language, the gardens of Balboa Park, San Diego air polution
and the Hotel del Coronado
Milan has a Professional Certificate in Photography from UCSD Extension and enjoys capturing moments with artistry and skill, and creating compelling images: portraits, events, sports, landscapes, architecture and nature. He received Best In Class (Photojournalism) at the November 2013 Professional Photographers of San Diego County Image Competition
, where he is a member. He is also a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, San Diego
. Milan has a SDPD Press Pass and contributes regularly
to the KPBS website as a freelance photojournalist.
Before becoming a video producer, editor and photographer, Milan spent a number of years as a programmer/analyst at UCSD and as a senior software engineer in Silicon Valley where he was also a freelance writer for several local newspapers. He also spent a decade as a team leader and trainer at two San Francisco challenge/adventure environmental organizations working with youth and special needs groups. He has an M.S. in Computer Science from U.C. Davis and a B.A. in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley.
